NREPA Parcels in Google Earth

New components proposed by NREPA to the National Wilderness Preservation System, as well as other roadless areas, are now available for viewing in Google Earth. Google Earth must installed on your computer (download Google Earth). Click on arrow symbols in the table below to download .kml files for viewing.

Downloading takes 10-60 seconds, depending on size and web connection. When the .kml file has finished downloading, clicking on it will open Google Earth and display the map file. These .kml files will not display in Google Maps.

• Existing components of the National Wilderness Preservation System (NWPS) display in green.
• Proposed new components (NREPA, H.R.980) to the NWPS display in red.
• Other roadless areas display in yellow.

• Zoom in to display parcel names and pushpins.
• Click on pushpins for H.R. 980 description of the proposed new components.
• Comments about parcels should reference the unique ID in square brackets at the end of parcel description, ex. [883].

Disclaimer:
The digitally mapped boundaries of NREPA components depicted by these were compiled from source maps of varying scales and precision, and thus, the their boundaries may not be precisely coincident with boundaries of other digitally mapped data.

In these files, the extent of roadless areas proposed by NREPA (H.R. 980) as new components to the NWPS is preliminary and subject to revision.
